Program Overview:

Our 10-month certificate program in Five Element acupuncture is the first of its kind in the Southeast US. It is designed for busy TCM-trained acupuncturists and acupuncture-trained physicians to maintain their current practice while learning this deep and root-cause system of acupuncture.

This program provides extensive training in Five Element theory, with emphasis on development of the clinical skills and training necessary to effectively practice Five Element acupuncture. Graduates of this program are certified Five Element practitioners, and are ready to begin practicing this rewarding system of medicine upon completion.

Module 7 and 9: four-day (Fri-Mon format) Clinical Intensives

Clinical Observation Module 8:

Module 8's clinical observation hours are flexibly scheduled by each student with an approved 5E clinical tutor, at their convenience.

Home Study – 10 hours

This 10-hour home study CEU course introduces key concepts of Five Element Acupuncture. Students will be introduced to how the 5 Elements manifest in people, the 12 Officials, and the diagnostic methods unique to this style of acupuncture. 

As the first course in the Certificate in Five Element Acupuncture Program, graduates may apply this course toward their 175 Certificate Program credit hours.

1. Certificate in Five Element Acupuncture Program

Course Objectives

The program offers extensive training in Five Element theory, and with emphasis on the development of the clinical skills and clinical experience necessary to effectively practice Five Element Acupuncture. Graduates of our program are certified Five Element practitioners, and are thoroughly prepared to begin practicing this wonderful system of medicine upon completion.

Course Description

Our 10-month training in Five Element Acupuncture is the first of its kind in the Southeast US. It is designed so that TCM practitioners and acupuncture-certified physicians may maintain their current practice while preparing for a new, more satisfying career.

Our program is directed and primarily taught by Michael Kowalski, A.P., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM), along with other well-qualified 5 Element Institute faculty practitioners. The 10-module Certificate in Five Element Acupuncture program begins with four convenient online modules, followed by three live onsite 2-day weekend (Saturday/Sunday) modules, finishing with two onsite 4-day Clinical Intensives,. These 9 modules are intersperses with a 15-hour Clinical Observation module, scheduled with approved 5 Element Institute practitioners. This certification program totals 175 hours of continuing education credit, approved by the Florida Board of Acupuncture.

2. Five Element Acupuncture for Physicians Certification Program

Course Description

Our 11-month Certificate in Five Element Acupuncture for Physicians Program is designed especially for MD/DO physicians who are new to the field of acupuncture, and wish to maintain their current practice while preparing for a new, more satisfying career in Five Element acupuncture. Whether you are new to acupuncture or have recently begun your acupuncture practice and want more extensive training, whether you intend to integrate acupuncture into your current practice or change from the conventional medical model to solely practicing Five Element acupuncture, this program is for you!

This program for physicians is comprised of the Institute’s Certificate in Five Element Acupuncture Program (see Course #1 above), plus an additional 45 hours of practical work, divided evenly over 3 modules. There is one 15-hour Clinical Observation module, and two 15-hour modules of practical instruction in acupuncture point location, Chinese pulse diagnosis, and Five Element needle technique. 

As with the non-physician Certificate Program above, the Physicians program begins with the Introduction to Five Element Acupuncture home study course. After the Introductory module, there are three 15-hour modules of clinical work totaling the 45 additional hours. Then you join with the Acupuncture Physician class for the remainder of the Certificate Program. The total program hours are 220, including 175 hours of the base Certificate Program.

Upon graduation from this 220-hour program, physicians receive their Certificate in Five Element Acupuncture, and are entitled to practice acupuncture under their medical license in most states, including our home state of Florida. 3. Introduction to Five Element Acupuncture: Home Study Course

Course Description

Do you want to deepen your understanding of the Five Elements, and how they manifest in your body and emotions? Do you want to gain insight into how Five Element acupuncture diagnoses your Causative Factor, the underlying root cause of your unique energy imbalance?

Michael Kowalski A.P., Dipl. Ac. presents this inspiring home study course as an overview of Five Element acupuncture theory, and the clinical skills used in Five Element acupuncture practice. Students will be introduced to the subtle diagnostic and rapport skills which Five Element practitioners develop to identify the underlying cause of a person’s illness according to this profound system of Oriental Medicine.

Course Objectives

The “Introduction to Five Element Acupuncture” online course is designed for acupuncturists, other healthcare providers, and patients who are interested in learning more about Five Element acupuncture. This convenient home study course can be taken as a stand-alone course, and is approved for 10 hours of continuing education credits by the Florida Board of Acupuncture. It is also the first module of the 10-module, 10-month Certificate in Five Element Acupuncture Program, for students who wish to continue with their Five Element acupuncture training.

4. Five Element Acupuncture Advanced Training Program

Course Description

Our 60-hour Advanced Five Element Training program is held live on 4 weekends (Sat/Sun) over 8 months. It is designed for all practitioners of Five Element Acupuncture who want to deepen their skills in Five Element diagnosis, and to advance their knowledge of Five Element treatment planning.

Whether you have recently begun your Five Element acupuncture practice, or have been a long-time practitioner of this wonderful system of Chinese Medicine, this Advanced Training program will sharpen your Five Element skills and enrich your practice. Upon graduation, you will receive a Certificate in Advanced Training in Five Element Acupuncture.
